Thank Your Lucky Stars was composed for the Jacobs School faculty bassoon duo of Kathleen McLean and Ivy Ringel. It is offered as a non-theistic hymn of gratitude to L.U.C.A., the cell that 4 billion years ago miraculously (or just serendipitously) became the Last Universal Common Ancestor of all life on Earth.
